ZAMANA in Bradford

ZAMANA in Bradford

We are proud to announce that our 2017 Mela Parternship show, ‘Zamana’ will feature as part of Bradford Illuminate this October. Following a successful national tour to festivals in Birmingham, Luton, Tunbridge Wells, London and Manchester, this is our first night time show for ‘Zamana’ and will feature in the award winning City Park.

13 and 14 Otober 2017 – 8.15pm Friday & Saturday, City Park, BD1 1HY, Bradford

The success of ‘Zamana’ this summer has been largely due to local dance groups and dance instructors – we are proud to be working with Laura Liddon, who is the Dance for Life Coordinator in the Sport & Leisure Service for Bradford City Council.

This breath-taking new show by award-winning British arts companies, Nutkhut and The Dream Engine, features a stunning aerialist and dynamic dance.

Working to Nutkhut choreographer Manuela Benini’s movement, Laura has brought together a diverse group of 23 young men and women from Muslim, Hindu and Sikh backgrounds, who range from 9 – 29 – many of of whom have never danced in public before. This is the first time this group has come together, so we are very excited to be part of the development of both Laura and members of the group.

The show runs for 20 mins and is repeated on each day – For location, date and times, please click here
