Described as a “parade through the town,” the event captured the spirit of an old-fashioned party, with dancers, fire performers, drummers, and families gathered in joyful celebration.
The festivities began with lantern-making workshops in the lead up and on the day that invited local children to craft their own glowing creations, with the chance to showcase their work during the parade. As lanterns flickered through the streets, the air was filled with the sound of lively drummers and the energy of performers, bringing the evening to life.
“It was wonderful to see so many families coming together,” said one local parent. “The lantern parade, with its bright lights and music, was truly magical. It felt like a celebration of community.”
The event’s success was made possible thanks to the collaboration between Rushmoor Borough Council and Artwork, two key partners that helped bring this vision to life. Together, they created an unforgettable experience for the local community, showing just how much can be achieved when people come together to celebrate culture and creativity.
“I can’t wait to see this again next year,” said another attendee. “It was such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and you could really feel the excitement. I’ll definitely be bringing my family back!”
Stay tuned for next year’s celebration – you won’t want to miss it!
