STAR OF WONDER

“Rebuilding community through Technology”

#NASA #EnglishHeritage #UNESCO

“You can imagine the solar system to be a racetrack, with each of the planets as a runner in their own lane and the Earth toward the center of the stadium,”

“From our vantage point, we’ll be able to be to see Jupiter on the inside lane, approaching Saturn all month and finally overtaking it on December 21.”

– Henry Throop, astronomer in the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

Nutkhut has once again collaborated with our partners, PlayLabZ as well as a small team of artists and technologists to develop new ways of bringing people together online.

With ‘NutkhutRemote’, our investment in re-building community through technology, this Christmas 2020, we launch our newest VR and 360 film, ‘Star of Wonder’.

This film brings together the past, the present and the future, mixing genres and characters, gravity, and time.

Christmas, The Great Conjunction – where planets will align in the night sky, which is thought to have been the source of a bright light in the sky, or the Star of Bethlehem, 2,000 years ago – and the winter solstice are our creative starting points for this film. Nutkhut Associate and VR specialist, Lorna Inman utilises the three-dimensional computer-generated environment of Virtual Reality and 360 to place this story within space and time, creating a visual experience for all to enjoy online.

Expect this story to be told in various ways and through different technologies, Google Doodle is already set for today, the 21st December to showcase The Great Conjunction and teach people around the globe about this event. Star of Wonder by NutkhutRemote is our way of sharing this story through immersive technologies.

“Encouraging curiosity and keeping connected by offering free creative and educational tools, to the public, our existing and new audiences, is at the heart of our new NutkhutRemote initiative.”
Simmy Gupta, Nutkhut

“From the ancient artform of Rangoli, to the immense space of the Universe – I’ve loved the merging together of Earth events and space events.”
Lorna Inman

At its heart, NutkhutRemote is an activity designed to bring people together, learn new skills in a virtual environment and foster dialogue and creativity between generations of the same community or household.

“It was fantastic to collaborate again with Nutkhut & Lorna Inman – to share the mind expanding magic of immersive cyberdelic light art for social good.”
James E. Marks, Co-Founder PlayLabZ & PsychFi Artivist

“I saw the Rangoli film which Nutkhut did and I got in touch with the team and really enjoyed how we brought Christmas and The Great Conjunction together.”
Asha Sachdeva – Participant – Coventry

In an eventful year, in the absence of live events and with the gift of time, we have worked with our associate artists, partners and communities to unearth new creative solutions as well as develop new opportunities for our freelance family to be involved with for our audiences.
